I have to agree with Miguel. For Gtk# 3.0 (whevnever that happens), let's go with .net 2.0 profile. Microsoft intends to be backwards-compatible with .net 2.0 for a long time.
Also, have you considered using Gtk+ introspection for Gtk# 3.0 that other Gtk+ bindings are starting to use?
