   I think the situation is easy to explain.  Today a lot of the
bindings for Gtk# are automatically generated from the C sources and
header files.  This cuts a lot of the manual work, but it still
requires manual fine tuning to get the binding right.

   Shipping with a binding that supports only a subset of what ships in
GNOME 2.6 is not the perfect situation, but it is better to ship less
features, and later add those as we have the time to properly add new
API calls and audit them than shipping with a lot of API calls that are
just automatically generated.

   So I think we can safely say that at this point, since Gtk# will
only be available in "Beta" form for the language bindings release,
that it will take a conservative approach at what it supports
